Hi Diane,

The ref. which intrigues me is to William and Ann Davey as witnesses to a marriage you were researching. This same couple I have got as my GG Grandparents. William Davey and Ann Slade married Albury 4th Nov.1817.

They appear to then have moved to Lambeth where all their children were born. Ann was born 1895 in Wellington,Somerset but although she appears on the 1841 and 1851 censuses, William does not,and in fact the 1851 census lists her status as a widow.Her death certificate in 1874 states widow of William Davey a Tailor.

I have not been able to find any references to William apart from on the record of marriage to Ann and as the father of their children, and also on marriage certs. of three sons and Ann's death cert. all of which give his occupation as a Tailor.

I wondered if you had any more information about William and Ann that would help me search a bit further. I am virtually restricted to using the internet living in Australia for the past 40 years (I am 80).
